Freshly painted black.
Ready to reassemble.
Reunited and it feels so good!
Making sure everything is tight.
Add grease to keep it moving.
Insert the inner bearing.
Pull together with screw press.
Install inner seal and done!

Remove Replace Front Bearings (Part 5)

Now that the inside bearings have been replaced (RR Front Bearings Part 4), we can put the hub assembly back together, insert the outer bearings, and finish up the project.

Part 5: Reassembling the inner and outer hubs.

1. First, we touched up the inner wheel hub with some paint to keep it rust-free.

2. Push the inner and outer wheel hub parts together with the shop press.

3. Check to make sure the wheel hub is tight and spins freely, then grease it up good.

4. Insert the outer bearings into the wheel hub using the screw press.

5. Tap the inner seal into place with a screwdriver and you’re all done.

6. Now, you can place the newly reworked wheel hub back on to the front suspension, attach the wheel, and you’re (literally) ready to roll once again.

New bearings ready to go in.
Place bearings into the hub.
Press bearings into place.
Bearings looking good to go!
Grease it all up good.
Insert the outer seal.
Time to reassemble the hub.

Remove Replace Front Bearings (Part 4)

The old bearings have been removed (RR Front Bearings Part 3), so now it’s time to reverse the process and insert the brand new bearings into the hub.

Part 4: Inserting the new bearings into the inner hub.

1. With the shop press, push the new bearing sleeve into the inner hub.

2. Grease up the inside of the bearings and hub to keep things moving smoothly.

3. Insert the outer seal by pressing it into place with a screwdriver.

4. Up next…putting the hub assembly back together.

Old outer bearings on hub.
Remove the bearing cage.
Bearings fall right off.
Remove the bearing race.
Attach bearing puller and vise.
A few turns and it pulls off.
Bearing race removed.
Remove the bearing sleeve.
Push out sleeve with press.
Removal success!

Remove Replace Front Bearings (Part 3)

Now that the front wheel hub has been separated (RR Front Bearings Part 2) into two parts, we can work on getting to the bearings that are inside the inner hub portion.

Part 3: Removing the bearing cage, race, and sleeve.

1. First, remove the bearing cage from the hub using some industrial snippers.

2. Cut the plastic ring and the individual bearings fall right off the bearing cage.

3. Now the outer bearing race can be removed using a bearing puller and vise.

4. With a few turns of the bearing puller, the bearing race should slide off easily.

5. The bearing sleeve is pushed out with the press and the inner bearings released.

6. Up next…replacing the old bearing with the new bearings.
